Ernie Urdal and Bevin Stephenson Acquire InfoTechVI.com


Victoria, British Columbia - Oct. 21, 2003 - Ernie Urdal and Bevin 
Stephenson, local high tech entrepreneurs, are pleased to announce the 
acquisition of "InfoTechVI.com - Vancouver Island's Information Technology 
Portal". The well known web site, previously owned and operated by Rick 
Bateman, publishes news, business and employment related information for 
the IT industry on Vancouver Island.

Said new owner Ernie Urdal, "I saw that Rick was planning to shut down the 
site if no buyer was found by year end.  I find the site invaluable in my 
business and I know a number of colleagues who do too. I contacted them and 
we decided we did not want to see it go, or lose its unbiased value, so we 
decided to purchase it ourselves. We will be adding functionality to it 
over the coming months to further increase its value to the Island IT 
community."

Bevin Stephenson added, "As an active user of this website, I know how 
important it is to have a central resource of current information to 
consult.  Having worked with Ernie previously on several ventures, I know 
that this partnership will prove valuable in continuing the InfoTechVI.com 
website for the Vancouver Island tech community."


About Ernie Urdal 
Ernie Urdal has been working in the high tech industry on the island for 
and with a variety of companies.  His goals for the next few years are to 
work with other businesses and organizations to promote IT on Vancouver 
Island, and bring a healthy sense of community to the industry.


About Bevin Stephenson
Bevin Stephenson has been involved in Victoria's information technology 
industry for over five years.  Born and raised here, she is active in the 
Greater Victoria community, volunteer organizations and has a keen interest 
in small business.  Bevin is interested in furthering the development of 
the IT sector in BC.


About Rick Bateman 
Rick Bateman created InfoTechVI in January of 2000. This winter he will be 
launching a new eBook publishing and "print-on-demand" service for 
Vancouver Island authors and releasing his first music CD.
